Healthy Grass-fed Beef

The Australian Ranch takes great pride in raising quality beef.  Our cattle are not fed grain, animal by-products, antibiotics or growth hormones.  They graze on pastures during the summer and are fed alfalfa/grass silage during the winter months.

 

Products

All beef is government inspected and is available as a whole beef, side of beef, quarter of beef and select pre-packaged cuts of meat. 

 

Please note:  Because of limited freezer space we are unable to provide sides of beef on demand.  Be prepared to wait one month for large orders.

 

 

 

Price List:

 

* Quarter, Half and Whole Beef  $2.25/lb

  A whole beef weighs ~300 pounds 

  (Please Note: You pay all cut and wrap charges

   applied by the butcher--about $0.50/lb.)

 

Lean Hamburger, Stew and Short Ribs  $2.75/lb.

 

* Chuck Roast,Cross Rib Roast, Outside Roast,

   Round Steak, Rib Steak $4.25/lb

 

* Eye of Round Roast, Sirloin Tip Roast/Steak,

  Flank Steak, T-Bone, New York Steak  $7.00/lb.

 

* Tenderloin  $12.00/lb.

 

* 64g Pepperoni Stick $1.00

 

* Beef Jerky  $0.60/gram 

 

* Stir-fry  $5.00/lb.

 

* Garlic Sausage is now available

 

Please be aware that our prices will fluctuate according to the Canadian beef market prices.

  

How to order A-MAZE-ING YORSTON BEEF

 

  1. Call Lenore or Bob Yorston at 250-747-8339, Fax 250-747-8349 
  2.  
  3. If you need a large amount of beef for a special event, please allow one month to process your order.  If you need the beef on a specific date we can ensure the meat arrives fresh, not frozen.  Let us know your plans as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

 

  1. Steps required to order a quarter, half, or whole beef:

 

  1.  
    • 1.  Confirm with us how much beef you would like and we will contact the butcher to book their services.

 

    • 2.  We deliver the beef to a butcher shop of your choice:

     We can discuss your options

 

  • 3.  The butcher will weigh the beef and we will phone you to let you know the weight of the beef (A whole butchered
  •      beef is approximately 300 lbs.). 

     Please remember that we are paid separately from the butcher. The unwrapped beef is $2.00/lb and a cheque

     can either be mailed or we can arrange to pick it up.

    • 4.  The butcher will then contact you to discuss cutting options. 

 

            Here are some of your cutting options:

 

**Note: If you order a quarter of a beef we will equally divide the prime cuts in the front and hind quarters.

 

Roasts

  •    portion size (number of people coming to dinner)
  •    bone in/out

Steaks

  •    chuck, sirloin, T-bone, New York, rib,flank etc.

      note: T-bone steaks are made from the Tenderloin (you may request to leave the tenderloin intact or partially intact if

               you want a few T-bones)

  •    thickness of steaks (ex. 1 inch steaks)
  •    leave everything as roasts (no steaks cut)
  •    number of steaks in each package
  •    cut stir-fry beef strips

Stew

  •    Stew meat can be turned into hamburger if desired

Hamburger

  •    Size of packages (1, 1.5, 2, 5 pounds ect.)

Organs

  •    heart, liver, tongue, kidneys (Do you want them?)

Soup Bones and Short Ribs

  •    Do you want them?

 

  1. 5.  The butcher will phone you to pick up your order ~14 days after it arrived at the butcher shop.

 ** Please respect the butcher, they often have limited room in their freezers, so when they call to say your order is ready please pick it up as soon as possible.

    • 6.  You pay the butcher when you pick-up your order.  (Basic cut and wrap is approx. $0.50/lb, but confirm this price
    •      with the butcher.) 

**Remember you should expect that the weight of your packaged meat will be much less than the butchered weight.
